Last week I happened to casually look for my old friend K in Facebook.
Instead of finding her name there I found a link to an article about her passing in July.
I could not believe what I saw, and I frenetically searched internet. Finally I was able to find K's husband's email address, and I immediately sent him my condolence on email.
His email address was on a guestbook which belonged to his niece. The young lady is courageously fighting against a serious disease. I saw he kept sending warm, encouraging messages to her even not too long after his wife's passing. I knew that my friend was a very happy woman sharing her life with this good-hearted man.
Internet is amazing. I've found a wedding picture of K's son which has just recently been posted on a local bulletin. Her son is a good looking young man, and the bride is a sweetheart. To me he looks just like his mother. I don't have a picture of K with me, so I've looked at his picture at least 5 times over the weekend to pray. I hope he would forgive me for acting like a stalker.
In response from her husband, he said they had a wonderful relationship and it was a true love for them. I'm very happy to know this, and that is my sole consolation.
I regret that we had lost contact. I thought of her from time to time, but was sure we could see each other sometime in the future when we wanted. That will not happen.
